Angola has a relatively small share of
world production, but it is some of the best quality available, even
though it is mostly Robusta. The beans are carefully sorted; coffee
is a main source of income for many people, and is therefore taken
very seriously. The best Robustas from the regions of Ambriz and
Amboin are notable for their uniform appearance and "clean" cup
characteristics, and the small Arabica output, mostly washed, comes
from the central and southern regions. Fairly "neutral" in the cup,
it can be compared to some of the more ordinary Brazilian Santos
beans, and its better grades are excellent coffees for blending. |
