Coffee of Guadeloupe

Coffee of Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe
This tiny island in the Lesser Antilles is a member of the International Coffee Organization as a consuming rather than producing member. In fact, it hardly grows any coffee at all now, but there was a time, before workforce problems, the success of other crops, and the devastation of tropical storms, when its Arabica coffees were the true aristocrats of the coffee world. What little they grow there now is consumed locally, so if a connoisseur is prepared to travel anywhere to have a great cup of coffee, Guadeloupe should be at the top of the list.
