As an Overseas Territory of France,
New Caledonia is officially a consumer rather than a producer of
coffee. However, it grows Robusta and some Arabica. Both species have been described as some of the world's best coffee, full of rich taste and aroma. New Caledonia exports very little, particularly of its Arabica, and unlike other countries with low production, seems to keep the best for itself. This is obviously one to put on the "travel-for-a-good-cup" list. |
