Coffee from Peru

Coffee from Peru

Peru Coffee
Another Arabica "other mild" producer, Peru grows its coffee on thousands of small family farms, where most of the trees are grown under shade on the mountain slopes at heights of 500 to 2000 meters. The processing is both unwashed and washed.

Some of the best are the coffees from the northern provinces of Cajamarca, Piura, San Martin and Lambayeque, which can outshine many other South American coffees with their pleasant acidity and sweetness, although the body may be "thin", "medium", or even "good", and the grading (A, AA and AAA) is increasingly by quality rather than size of bean. Transport, and therefore availability, of the 69 kilo bags is difficult due to the isolated nature of the mountainous regions.
