|
| Much of the Arabica grown in the Philippines since about 1740 was destroyed by the dreaded Hemileia vastatrix, or coffee rust disease, in 1889, since which time most of the crop, which at present makes up about 0.88 of one per cent of the world market, is Robusta, Liberica, Excelsa, Arabica and some hybrids. In general, all of the species produce, at best, rather ordinary results. | |
