Cafe Brulot Coffee Recipe

Cafe Brulot

Ingredient:



1 (5 to 7.5cm)

6 tbsp
300 ml/ 10 fl oz
300 ml/ 10 fl oz
600 ml/ 20 fl oz
Zest of 2 oranges
Zest of 2 lemons
cinnamon stick
whole cloves
sugar
brandy
triple Sec or Cointreau
strong hot coffee
Methods:
  1. Remove as much white pith from orange and lemon zest as possible. Discard pith; cut remainder of rinds into thin slivers.
  2. Combine slivered rinds, cinnamon stick, cloves, sugar, brandy and triple Sec or Cointreau in a chafing dish and heat.
  3. Stir until sugar is dissolved
  4. With a match, carefully ignite spirits.
  5. Gradually stir in coffee as spirits burn. Continue stirring gently until flames die.

Makes 4 servings.

 

Coffee Fact: Robusta coffee has twice caffeine in it than Arabica.
